I saw (and touched) the Pacific Ocean yesterday. Also the Pacific Ocean touched me. I wonder if my shoes have dried out yet. The beach was endless, and flat, and sandy, and didn't have the shells and beach glass and other debris that I'm used to seeing on beaches. We saw surfers at one beach, and spent a while watching the surf because the waves are bigger and curlier than the ones in Maine are. We drove through Malibu and then back to Northridge along the Topanga Canyon Boulevard, which is the ultimate in windy mountain roads for most of its length. We saw a hippie neighborhood with a peace sign in Christmas lights and Volkswagen vans in garages. (We've seen three Vanagons since we've been here. Groovy.)
We had some really awesome donuts last night from a place called Granny's Donuts. We had an excellent breakfast at Ozzie's, which is a hybrid of all-american diner and little Mexican restaurant.
The weather was in the 70's and beautiful yesterday; it's spring here. Going back to Indy is going to be a real letdown.
I had a dream about my cats last night.
Today is the day...
