Bernie Mac dies

Not that I'd ever seen anything he was in, or could pick him out of a lineup, but death by pneumonia is NOT my idea of the way to go. 50 also seems awfully young.

YouTube is a great way to kill time

Maurice La Marche in 1984...

...and 2007.

♥♥♥♥♥

Also I think it's time to kill some tabs... they're all the way off the far edge of the screen. Do I really need three YouTube tabs?

random celebrity thoughts

I do not like TOM CROSETom Cruise. I have never liked Tom Cruise, not even before he went batshit insane. I never understood how anyone could find him good-looking.

But Tom Cruise in the opening sequence of Goldmember Cracks me up every damn time.

It delights me to see voice actors doing their thing, and to see the faces that the familiar cartoon voices go with. I love the episode of In the Actors' Studio with the Simpsons cast, and the various clips on YouTube of the Futurama and Animaniacs crew at various cons.

Frank Welker is one of the few faces I couldn't pick out of a lineup, but it seems like he's been in cartoons since they were invented. Is there an animal or something otherwise inhuman in the cast? It's Frank Welker.

And today I found a 1989 documentary about the making of The Real Ghostbusters. This is part two, and right near the beginning is a much younger Maurice LaMarche and Frank Welker doing lines and then Frank just showing off. (The sound gets way out of sync by the end of the video.)

Leaving for Michigan Tuesday afternoon. Ugh. How did it sneak up on us this year?

I did not know that Dan Aykroyd was Canadian until this week, but you can so tell every time he says the word "sorry." Ahahahahahahaha!

Also, he seems to have gone somewhat off the deep end in his later years. We couldn't even get all the way through the video.

KITTY TONGUE!

I woke up to kitty paws at some ungodly hour this morning. I didn't look to see whose paws they were--based on the weight I think they were Rocket's--but just pushed them off me because OW.

Remember when Heath Ledger died? God forbid you said anything irreverent about it. I didn't hear anyone getting bent out of shape over the "cold dead hands" jokes when Heston died, though (or maybe I just move in the wrong circles for)--I call discrimination!

Also, why is it in the 80's when it's still April?

Wow, four consecutive posts about Heath Ledger's death. It's interesting to see what items get the old f'list fired up.

Finding out that Richard Jeni has apparently committed suicide has not improved my DST-disordered, the-copier's-broke-and-we-can't-get-ahold-of-the-service-people morning.

Also, the lead singer of Boston is dead.

And then I said I then.

I have two tomatoes ripening in the garden, despite the humungous tomato plants having collapsed under their own weights in one of the recent storms. The tomato cages are too frail to prevent it. Guess next year I'll need to tie the plants to actual stakes.

I also need to go hunting for cucumbers. I know there's at least one under all that foliage somewhere.

Dear Chadwicks, the fifties called and they want their suit back.

I wish they had tops in tall. I'm not proportioned to really need tall pants, but I seem to have a longer torso than average because I have trouble finding tops that are long enough. I have no interest in showing my midsection, kthxbye.

We rented the new The Hills have Eyes last night because Charles made the mistake of telling me that Billy Drago was in it. Boy, was that a mistake. It sucks just as much as the first movie, only in different ways, and Papa Jupiter got like NO screen time AT ALL. I feel cheated. :P

Bubba Nosferatu OMG, is this real???

I'm supposed to be paying my mortgage and stuff while I'm here, but Charles e-mailed me some interesting stuff that got me all sidetracked.

Since yesterday I've learned that The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes' Younger Brother is coming out on DVD on April 4th, The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr. is coming out on DVD in July, and so is The Animaniacs. Woo!

And according to my Page-a-Day e-mail calendar, today is Eric Idle's birthday.

I give up. My blood pressure is not directly and logically affected by what I eat or what meds I take. It's entirely random. Which is going to make passing a DOT physical difficult.
