Blah. Must be Monday.

I've started one of my answers to the alphabet meme, I swear, it's just that so much of my free time has been devoted to sewing because this Chicago thing is much closer than I think it is. Ack.

I'm fishing YouTube for clips of Ben's dad from Knocked Up and I'm really not having any luck. (Hey, is that chick Ursula from George of the Jungle?)

It's too goddamn hot. It's been in the 90s and will continue to do so. Even in our dark house it gets uncomfortably hot when it's that hot outside.

I need to do that muxtape for prettyh. I also need to start on the alphabet meme responses, though I was kind of waiting for arafel to get back and claim a few letters.

It's hot in here right now, and ForecastFox says it's already 70 outside. Bleh.

As seen in prettyh's journal, I'm even swiping her extra-clarified instructions.

Meme rules are as follows:
1. It begins with a list of all 26 letters of the alphabet.
2. Comment with something for me to talk about that starts with one of those letters. Make me babble about anything -- TV shows, actors, actresses, food, discover what I really think about stuff! (This means you comment here with a letter, and a topic that starts with that letter. Then I have to respond to it somehow. With my opinion, or nonsensical babbling. Or something.)
3. One topic per letter -- it's like a claims list! I will add topics to the letters as they appear. (Which means, if you choose "T", don't give me seventeen things that start with "T". Give me ONE. Damn you all.)
4. You can comment multiple times, but only if the letter you chose hasn't already been taken. (Which means that it doesn't matter if you think the person who commented with "M - Mickey Mouse!" is an idiot and wasted a chance to get me to discuss something vulgar or bizarre; you were TOO LATE, so pick another letter! DAMN YOU!!)
5. I will post a new post talking about all topics given to me! (Ostensibly.)

And if prettyh is fast enough, she might even have the whole alphabet to herself, which would probably be BAD because she knows all the goooood subjects. ¬.¬

In other news, we're supposed to get possibly up to six inches of snow, sleet, and crap starting tonight and going through tomorrow. Maybe I'd better plan to be sick on Friday. :P

It's all the swearing, isn't it? I'd think the occasional medical words would count for something.

In other news, spent the afternoon cleaning up the dining room. The table is now clear (though we seem to have one more chair than fits at the table, or else I can't count), and all the boxes that were in there--with the exception of two that were moved to a new storage place, and the two currently forming the cat pedestal--are gone. The books were dispersed among the empty spots in the shelves. There's still the random stuff up against the west wall to deal with, but the actual eating area is clean. (The media shelves and my bookshelves are a hot mess, though.)

Tidying the kitchen will happen during dinner preparation, and I should also have time to do the gold highlights on the music room walls tonight.

Are you serious? I don't even drink. What I don't know about alcohol would fill a book, though I guess I've picked up a lot of strictly academic knowledge. Alcohol looks attractive, because it comes in all kinds of colours, with interesting names and pretty bottles, but it all tastes like crap. Apparently alcohol is the strongest flavour in the world. Plus it makes you stupid, and I never have figured out the attraction of that.

Employee Recognition Dinner tonight. I hope it's going to be a lot fun. We have a record turnout, and the door prizes and major prize baskets are really fabulous this year. Prep yesterday was also a lot of fun--our committee kicked butt getting the door prizes wrangled and the registration table packets organized, and it saved us in HR having to stay until 8 PM again this year.

Also need to clean tomorrow, and do grocery shopping, and do some painting in the music room to get further along in getting that put together. Except for the windows, the master bedroom is done, and it looks awesome. Now it just needs some furniture.

Hell Week is less than a month away. Hopefully it'll be a relatively non-hellish Hell Week, as we're doing the setup for Independence a few days before, and we don't have any nights with two shows at once this year. Doesn't look like we'll have either of Der Fliegender Hollenders to help this year, alas.

Q*Bert cracked us up last night. She was sleeping on the back of the couch as we were watching videos. I looked up to pet her tail (because it was hanging down tantalizingly within reach) and I saw her dangling foot twitch, then the tip of her tail. Then slowly her tail started to get wider... and wider... and wider. She must have been having some kind of threatening kitty dream because her tail was slowly floofing out as she slept. That ridge along her spine didn't stand up, just her tail. Hee.
